How many people don't report a sighting???
The latest audio report posted is number 126.
126 people who have bravely decided to share there encounter, it has me thinking just how many people don't report there encounter?
If the 126 accounts reported represented 5% of people who have had sightings(5% is pure speculation, just a number to begin with) that would leave 11970 encounters not reported.
Of course this is just a figure based on the audio reports.
The audio reports represent encounters across most of the country, a diverse range of different habitats.
It makes me wonder just how wide spread are they and how many are out there???

The more I learn, the less I know.

Re: How many people don't report a sighting???
In the old days before the internet and social media on this stuff I would say most who had a a sighting would of kept it to themselves, they were only hearsay reports and articles in old papers and such and unless you were in a culture of indigenous heritage of Yowies being well known I dont think it would have been talked about much.
Today there is much more acceptance to this kind of stuff.
It would also be very hard to put a number on unreported sightings or encounters.

Most people don't make the report for fear of being branded a cook
I see so many 1st time contributors to this page state that they just LURK and only read the reports but finally that little bug in their head allows them to make the jump albeit once they realise they share the forum with a bunch of like minded individuals.
If we as a fringe community spread the good word of the Yowie then perhaps we can start to break down some walls and those who have encounters may feel more at ease relaying their experiences.

Fear is a huge motivating factor on weather to make a report, the Fear of Ridicule or being different. Our society is built on conformity, I think the younger you are Peer pressures can be enormous. Also the 'Respected' professions also have a Peer pressure and lets not go to Peer pressure of Religions. 5% is maybe a good starting point, it could be as high as 20%, Great thread looking forward to other contributors.

And on why they are reluctant to tell. Who would believe some of these nutty experiences except bigfoot enthusiasts and researchers? I wonder if the police would even check it out if someone called in a yowie attack?Yowie bait wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 9:31 pmNo worries. He makes some good points of how witnessess talk about what the saw. Sure wouldve been a shock seeing your dog flying over the treetops!
