Weird tree bends and natural causes

G'day everyone, its been a while but thought this might be worth a post..
I have recently started working at a new job site, which involves a nice commute through some fairly well known Yowie country. To and from work I am constantly scanning the roadside for any signs of potential Yowie activity, at the same time trying to stay in my lane.. lol
One spot in particular I noticed a tree bend not like anything else I've seen on my drive, so yesterday I took the time to find it on my way home and have a closer look.
The eucalyptus stands in this area are almost sapling like, about the thickness of a wrist or forearm and stand around 10 to 15 metres tall..

As far as I could tell, nothing was pinning the tree down.
So it begs me to question if this was a Yowie bend, how would the tree stay like this for an extended amount of time without pinning it down? Would it not eventually right itself again?
As far as it naturally occurring, what causes it? And why only this tree out of the thousands along this stretch of road? The foliage at the top of the tree is still green as, and likely very much still alive.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this one, cheers

A certain percentage of these may well be the work of Yowies.
However if there was a strong wind and the fibers of the trunk were weakened on the long side of the bend I couldn't see how the tree could recover to upright.
Nature has and will always continue to fascinate !

I see a lot of these in some of my areas I visit. However there shear number of them particularly in the Avon Valley NP area would suggest that climate, tree species and prevailing winds are most likely cause.
This one in my opinion it is highly likely it has been manipulated by something. The lack of other trees displaying the same or similar bending would start to rule out climatic conditions as a contributing factors.

You didn't look in your video but did you search for hair on the tree?

Nah mate, I was pressed for time as I had to get to work.. However, I do realise that those kind of observations can make all the difference.. When you're caught up in the moment, those ideas sometimes fly out the window. Another thing I should've checked for, were greasy hand marks along the trunk, smooth bark like that would surely show something providing a Yowie's hands are as grubby as I think they could be.
Could almost be worth making a small check list to ensure nothing is missed..

Im certainly guilty of getting caught up in the moment and the excitement of the possibilities.....
I usually forget to get my notepad and paper out to log my findings. I'm getting better at marking locations on the map or my GPS. So I reckon a checklist might be a good idea hey!
