Bad Trend
There is a 'Bad Trend' that has been happening for about a year now that has taken my attention. The trend is people looking at Google Map pictures and seeing Pareidolia faces or figures and posting on here, asking "is this a Yowie". I really can't see how you can look at a photo on Google Maps and see a Yowie in it. I am asking this question as it has been raising its ugly head over the last year. We as a Community of researchers cannot be taken seriously if we are asking if Google Map photos have Yowies in them. The best practice of doing research is to take your 'own' pictures and videos and if you see something in them, then go back to that exact area and do a comparison photo or video. I know the members on here have a different amount of experience when it comes to researching Yowies, but we do have to use our brains and common sense when it comes to posting Google Map pictures and asking is this a Yowie. I'm not pointing fingers at any one person but this has been happening for awhile now and I thought I should say something about it.

Im frequently AMAZED at how so many people in this field allow their minds to run away with them.
There are a couple of "researchers" in particular, fairly active on youtube who have demonstrated a propensity for apophenia/pareidolia which verges on the psychopathic.

Re: Bad Trend
I'm glad you circled it I wouldn't have seen it otherwise....

The only reason Google maps/earth should be used is to plot sightings and encounters or looking into possible research locations to get an idea of the lay of land
