More Possible Wood Knocks from WA

Unread post by Slats »

G day guys
I have finally got around to posting this video.
I have again captured some possible wood knocks in the area I have been focusing on lately.
It has sparked my curiosity about the whole wood knock phenomenon. I'm currently planning a study looking into them a little deeper.

I want to find out what is being used to create the knock and what medium the knock is being generated on.
I'll be conducting an experiment making knocks with a stick/small branch and rock on live trees, dead standing and dead lying trees as well as on rock. These will be recorded at 5m increments out 100m. The aim is to better identify weather the anomalous recorded knocks are in fact knocks or trees cracking as they dry out or move in the wind etc.

Cheers

On the last session I did, the one with the bark/grunt. I had something approach or walk past it didn't seem overly heavy though. I'm yet to get anything like your getting but if I do I'll send it your way.

Just the anomalous knocks or knocking sounds hence launching the study.
