Mountain Giants?

Unread post by Stomper »

Hey all, I recently came across Duke's World Bigfoot Radio and his material on mountain giants, which I had not previously heard of. I'm a bit sceptical (especially of Kat) but it's a weird and fascinating topic and I'm curious of what you guys think of these creatures and (if you think they're real) if we have them here. I can't remember where, but I do remember reading that the Aborigines had stories of Yowies as tall as trees, though that's a bit ambiguous. Thanks!

It makes sense that if there is one 'bigfoot type', there would actually be a large variety of types.

The Mountain Giant (called Mossabe in my writings) tends to push the boundaries of believability at least, if not more so, the existence of the Mooshkah (Dogman)... this is simply because of the reported height. Once an animal gets above a certain height the pressures on their leg bones increases exponentially (which is why elephants have such thick legs and very tall humans live short lives).
Many 'debunkers' of Sasquatch use this argument to 'prove' non-existence of ANY large hominid.
Of course without being able to study one we are left with only theories and speculation.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Wolf you raise a good point on size issues and how unknown these types of creatures are. One of my issues with the possibility of mountain giants is the (current) lack of sightings and information on them. While absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, you'd think we would hear more about them than what I've found so far. The closest creature sightings I've found to these creatures in Aus so far are basically the Yowiehunters audio report no. 3 (Jamison Valley) with 11-12 foot yowies and a sighting in the Kimberly of a 14 footer.

Thanks Gavin for that clue, though all I could really find was that the Turramulli are around the 10 foot mark.
Could this mean that what we thought was a wide height range of 6-12 feet (like the Sasquatch) is actually two different creatures, or perhaps just a new creature with a higher range? I did notice in some sighting reports of the bigger ones that they sometimes have an offset big toe, which I think is not as common in the smaller ones. Maybe that's one way to tell what's what.
What do you think?
