My stories about local yowies

Unread post by qldgirl »

Hi there everyone,
I currently now live in Brisbane but my family still lives in the area where I grew up. I grew up in Lockyer Valley, in a small town called Coominya. Coominya is half way between Esk and Lowood and situated just past Wivenhoe dam..

The first Yowie sighting I have is from people of the town of Laidley. Mulgowie Yowie is famous out there. The local people claim to see it in the corn fields...I am not sure as to how much truth there is to this but my brother used to live on Mulgowie Rd and late one night he heard noises at his back door when he looked he said he could see a yowie.

When I was in high school, I got a phone call off a friend late one night who's parents were having a party. The kids (around 13-15 at the time) were playing around in the corn fields of their property when one of the young girls screamed out to the other and they both claim they saw a yowie eating a piece of corn.

Now, not only are yowie sightings seen around this area, but alot of other paranormal things happened to me and my family whilst growing up in Coominya. If anyone is interested in these stories I would be happy to share.

Thank you for taking interest!

Happy new year

tell! tell!@$
I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run. He's fuzzy. Get outta here.

Most of the people who I have told these stories too think I am b/s them...These stories have happened to me, not that I can explain why.

The biggest thing that ever happened to me and the most reacountable was on the 01/01/2001 around midnight (seriously). Two weeks before hand my brother had smashed his car and was getting it fixed in the next few days. Anyway...My two older brothers were home with me and we were talking about the past (with our family) and just other things, but all night I kept saying I felt uncomfortable...Like someone was watching us.
My oldest brother went to go home (he lived about 2km away) and when he went to get into his car I looked over at the smashed car and I said 'Holy s#@t (X-he woulnt want his name here, sorry) Look at your car!!!!' What I could see was a HUGE bright light coming off the car and it was moving up and down (I guess you could say vibrating)...(X) looked at my other brother and said woah look and then when he looked back he couldnt see it anymore. The very oldest brother couldnt see anything. X looked over at me and he said I was just staring at the car but then I just clicked out of it...We found a metal pole on the ground (dont know what good that was) and we had a closer look...there was nothing in or around the car but you could see where the tyres had been, the car had moved maybe 20cm. We jumped in my other brothers car and went to his house for the night..

Going way back to the early 90's the first thing that happened in the house was my parents bed would shake during the night. They had no idea what is what but they said nothing else was moving but the bed...it happened twice.

My personal other experiences included, sleeping paralysis...I have had it since moving away from the house but only once or twice. One night I went to wake up for some reason and I couldnt move my body...I tried to yell out to my mum but no sound would come and my breathing stopped...I remember trying to move my arm into the air and finally I did but it took a lot of strength...I am not religious but i said 'jesus help me' and I could move again...I thought I was going insane lol, This happened to me several times... It also happened to my brother X one night. He was laying on the lounge and fell asleep, when he went to wake up he couldnt move...when he could move he looked down at his dog and he truely believes the exact same thing was happening to her...

This is a long post, So I wont write anymore, but as I said in my first post...if your interested then I can post more...but any feedback to these would be appreciated.

thanks!!

My Stories about Local Yowies

Unread post by Big Cats »

Dear qldgirl

Well believe it or not, the Laidley area is one of my current haunts. I even took Dean and his family down to Crosby Park one day for a day trip. I also have a mining exploration permit in and around that area.

I have heard some pretty cool stories in that area, particularly about the yowie. That one is suppose to be a small one, not like the gigantic ones in other areas.

I also have had a few Big Cat sightings in and around that area near Mulgowie and Ma Ma Creek. There are lots and lots of sandstone caves in that area. I have found over the years, where there is a Yowie sighting there is usually a yowie sighting. Have you found that Dean and Mike (Williams)?

Oh Yes qldgirl

I forgot to say that I have had some really fantastic ORB / Min Min sightings in that area too. Go to my web site http://uqconnect.net/~zzpclach/index.htm and go to ORBS and then go to Southern Queensland. There are some pretty good shots there in that area. Also when I was the Investigations Officer for UFORQ http://www.uforq.asn.au/ I had a few good UFO sightings in that area too. So, you are right it is certainly a hot spot, that’s for sure.

Hi qldgirl,

Sleep paralysis has happened to me once. I was at a mates house, woke up in the middle of of the night and found I couldn't move. Scared the absolute c**p outta me.

And this is an amazing co-incidence, but.......about a week before, I watched a documentary on it on the discovery channel. When I found I could move again, I remembered.

Apparently while your in the deepest part of sleep, your brain shuts off a certain function that stops you from moving, and hurting yourself. Sometimes if you wake suddenly, it takes a little while for your brain to turn this function back on. They reckon it's quite common.

If I hadn't stumbled across a documentary on it just before it happened, I wouldn't have known what to do. But I definitely would have assumed that it could be nothing else but something paranormal.

Hi Paul,
I looked at your pictures and I have to say that I was very impressed. I am aware of lots of sandstone caves, I actually know a family who owns 200acres that backs onto the state forest(near Gatton-Esk Rd)... They have many caves on their property...I havent heard of any big cat sightings, but as I said, my family still lives out that way so if I do hear of anything I will let you know.

Hi Romeo, Thank you for the reply,

I have looked up sleep paralysis a few times, I know science is probably correct but I just can't help think that there is anything more to it...I don't know...Has it only happened to you the once, or more frequent?

Okay so I will continue to write down a few of my stories, a few are from other memebers of my family too.

The house I lived in was an old QLDer...It was a five bedroom home, the lounge and kitchen was down stairs while the rooms were upstairs..My younger brothers used to get P.Off with me always sleeping on their floor because I was too scared to sleep in my own room lol.

One particular thing happened on two occasions and my little brother can back me up on this. We were sent to our bedrooms one night for being naughty but we both went and sat in his room...We were talking and laughing and I said to him 'Do you hear that?' We froze with shock as we listened, we could hear a beeping, much like the sound that a submarine radar makes...It was quite loud and lasted for what felt like 10 minutes, but I'm sure it wasn't too long. When we told our parents they said it was our imaginations..As I said earlier on this happened to us both twice. We s#@t ourselves and I can still hear the noise to this day.

On another occasion, my older brother (X) came over to our house, but no one was home. When he pulled up, he saw someone standing in the door way, behind our dog. (I will add that our dog is a large rottweiler, he is not aggressive but he would attack a stranger while no one was home. ) My brother said that he couldn't make out if it was male or female but he got out of the car and chased it, when he started running he said that the person got a fright, ran straight up stairs and dissappeard...he checked every where in the house and he couldn't find anything. My school uniform required me to wear a white shirt...for days he would accuse me of skipping school and staying at home and that he caught me as he said he couldn't think of anything else that it could be. With the same person all in white, a friend of mine who stayed over often, was looking out of my bedroom window one night and started crying. She said she saw a person walking around outside in white, when we had a look we could'nt see anything.

I remember my light bulb in my bedroom would frequently blow...I would go to walk into the bedroom and flick on my light, but nothing would happen...The next time I would try there would be light....then when I went to go to bed that night, the light would just blow. My parents had electricians come and check out everything, there was apparently nothing wrong with anything. My parents got sick of me sleeping with my light on at night, so my mum bought me these little 'night lights'...I had three of them and you could just plug them into a power socket and they would work...All three of them blew their bulbs within a month... ...

As I got older, I learnt to deal with the strange things that happened. We were all sitting in the kitchen one night and we had a mirror on our wall...The mirror started shaking, banging againts the wall if you will, I walked over to it and it was shaking so hard, that when I grabbed the mirror it actually shook my arms...We started laughing and it started to not shake so hard, then stopped. I think this was the last thing to happen to me in that house...I am not sure though...But my parents sold the house in 2002 and my mum moved to redbank (I moved there too, but have since moved out of home) and my dad moved to Laidley.

I now live in Brisbane, since moving maybe two or three things have happened to me. One night I was asleep, when I woke up I saw someone standing at the end of my bed with a HUGE smile on their face...I screamed and my partner put the light on...nothing was there...I wasn't scared though because I fell back asleep with no problems...I found that weird. The second incident was when I woke up one night and I looked at the roof and I could see thousands of spiders coming off the ceiling...I flicked off the blankets and ran around the house like a maniac..of course, there were no spiders..

To this day, I have a lot of sleep problems. I frequently have night mares and most of them are based out on the property at Coominya....but I have learnt to live with everything and I actually enjoy everything paranormal...and try to gain as much knowledge as I can...

I have left out a lot of things in this post, they were only small experiences that happened to me and the rest of my family, so there was really no point in posting them.

Thank you so much for reading this and I can't wait to get all of your replies.

Take Care

That happend to me when i was a kid. like, 4 to 5 years old. Woke up, saw this man in a bowler hat standing at the end of my bed. its cliché, but his eyes were glowing. My mother saw him as he was dissapearing. She came in because of me screaming. its scary as hell, but looking back on it i want it to happen again so i can get a better look :P
