AYR Interactive Yowie Sighting Map

Unread post by Dean Harrison »

Most of you would have seen this by now, I know. Except for Russell, who although claims he's not Amish, but is yet to discover Facebook.

Or probably electricity......

Great new Interactive Map which will be useful to a lot of people - https://studiopentagon.info/stats/yowiemap.php

Still more information to be added. Probably hundreds more.

Our friend Michael has spent countless hours putting this together for us. Great work in progress. We have also added it to out Homepage.

Enjoy...

The indicator for 'Central, New South Wales' could probably be better positioned rather than where it is. Although, come to think of it, many strange looking people can frequently be seen at Central Station in Sydney.

Otherwise excellent!

Wow. That is an excellent resource. A few sightings around me I wasn't aware of. Great stuff.

(oops) Well spotted! I've moved the marker to Forbes, NSW. I was at the central station in December and can only agree about strange looking people - some a lot scarier than any yowie (scared)

Thanks for the tip

I viewed it previously ages ago, but had completely forgotten about it.

This is a great resource however I should point out that the marker pin for the Adelaide River, NT report is in the wrong place.

The newspaper report references the Adelaide River bridge on the Arnhem Highway. This seems to have been confused with the township of Adelaide River.

The actual location is about 30 clicks east of Humpty Doo (the location marked as Wak Wak on the attached map).

Don't mean to be pedantic but these are two very different locations.

Speaking of Humpty Doo, a Redditor posted an account a few days ago about a sighting his sister had at Howard Springs which is right next door.

She was outside cooking dinner while her kids were playing and saw something tall, dark, hunchbacked and "leathery" with "backward knees".

She said it was moving FAST from tree to tree, almost like it was playing a game. Dogman perhaps?

What's interesting is she had a previous encounter driving at night in Howard Springs on a dirt road.

Something large that she first thought was a bear (similar to Katrina Tucker's initial reaction during her Acacia Hills encounter) ran across the road in front of her.

A few hundred yards down the road it ran across again.

Further down the road it ran out for a third time.

Anyway, I found it interesting that whatever it was seemed to go out of its way to show itself multiple times.

Iwanna.
