Brisbane Ranges?

Unread post by Bushman »

Hi,

My name is Mark, I live near the Brisbane Ranges in Victoria and are wanting to know if any reports have every come in from this area. I visit the Ranges all the time and have explored not even half of the park, It is rugged in some places and is not visted by many people.

Cheers, :D

Funny you should ask Mark....

We had an absolute beauty come in about a month or two ago.

Not sure if we have it in out latest news, I suspect not, but it is well worth the read once we get it up.

Although I doubt it was formally posted, I'm sure it was spoken about on the board because I remember Fluffy asking where the Brisbane Ranges was?

Can't pull the details right now, but I did speak to the witness again a couple of weeks ago. Great sighting by a group of people. Not recent, but never the less, it was a good one.

Brisbane Ranges eh?

Bushman you have captured my attention with your information request. Nice to have a yowie location that is near Melbourne - day trip at least!

I have been planning to visit that area for some time: mostly to check out the old gold mining settlements.

Went to the Sherbroke Forest on the weekend - doubt any Yowies would hang out there!

Any Brisbane Ranges parts/trails that you recommend?

Keep us posted with your experiences down there.

:D Thanks Dean,

If you could find that report it would be great. Meanwhile I will keep going out there.

You never know.

:D Hi Big V,

Thanks for your reply, I would suggest the nature circuit which starts at the Ankie Gorge Picnic Ground.

It takes about 3 hours to complete but takes you over some of the best country the Brisbane Ranges has to offer.

I hope you have some luck.

Cheers,

Mark

Paul is sending me the audio CD of the report this week. From there I'll write it up and post it.

:) Hey Matt,

I live near Ankie in Victoria. We are very close to the Bisbane Ranges so I go there all the time trying to find any evidence.

Hey Matt :D

Haven't seen any Goats or Pigs out in the Ranges but heard plenty of things going through the bush.

Nice place the Brisbane Ranges, I try to get out there as much as I can but you know how it is with work and soforth.

I will keep you up to date with my trips out there.

I am a bit late to the party on this one as I only just found this forum. I found a giant footprint while walking around in the Brisbane Ranges. I took a few pics but made a rookie error in not putting anything down for size referance. It was in mud so it had clearly defined toe marks and all.
