Blood Moon 26/5/2021 with unusual object.
Ok so I was photographing the Blood Moon last night 26/5/2021 and this morning I decided to have a look at the photos I took on my little Panasonic DMC-TZ110.
I took four photo's of the Blood Moon all with this unusual object and each time the object looks different, it also seems to be quite large whatever it is, I cant seem to work it out?
Anyway if anyone else happened to photograph the Moon last night can you also please check your images.
Opinions are most welcome.

Around what time was this? It could be something interesting a friend of mine saw 48 hours ago thats definitely a good catch and was heading through your neighborhood. . Cant tell much by the photos though. Any further details you can provide?

Are you uding a filter that might change the colour if the actual object? Did it appear to move in the photos? Were the photos taken in close succession or are they from quite some time apart?

I took a succession of four photos from around 9:13pm to 9:19pm.
No filter used, its just a simple little point and shoot camera..... zoomed in as far as I could go,bassplyr wrote: Thu May 27, 2021 11:20 am Are you uding a filter that might change the colour if the actual object? In each photo it looks a little different suggesting it may be moving or changing shape? The pictures aren't the best clarity I admit however enough clarity to understand there is something there. I did get on Stellarium to do a comparison of what was around the area at the time and in the vicinity there is a double star called "Jabbah" but to me it doesnt look like a star.
Blowing up the object with the moon in frame gives to me a better indication of size.

Hi Dion,
Yes it's the 4th mag star Jabbah.
It's in all of my images as well.
I live on the other side of the pond from you.
The coloured tinge is caused by chromatic aberration.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatic_aberration
The changes in shape are caused by atmospheric distortion ie the atmosphere is always moving.
The image is also probably a tad out of focus causing the star to be less pinpoint.
Also the stars / moon are always moving causing star trail on exposures of a couple of seconds or more.
So basically a combination of all or some of the above.
Keep your eyes up, you never know when you will see something from the Hmmm basket.
Here's one of mine from a bit after yours.

Thanks Hairy Kiwi
Jabbah it is....... just seemed a little to big to be a star and seemed to me to be a little closer to the moon.
Was watching a bit of the C9 news as well yesterday and they all had the same object in their images too.

Yep definitely stars.
If your exposures were longer you would have had more appear.
Here is a photo of my imaging session. You can see them quite well.
These were 1.6sec exp.
