Yowies in the Grampians?
Hi all,
I just got back from the Grampians,I stayed overnight and heard some strange sounds including wood knocks.
This place looks ideal habitat for the yowies, anyone know of any sightings at all from the Grampians?

Gday Brettski
What other strange sounds did you hear apart from wood knocks?
The Grampians are more well known for Big cat sightings as far as I know, however I would think that Yowies would be there also, more of the spiritual kind.
Try reading this report, Particularly the indigenous parts of it. https://www.yowiehunters.com.au/victori ... toria-2016
Or there is sightings of a Neanderthal type being at Redbank not far away. https://www.yowiehunters.com.au/victori ... toria-2008

Yeah mate , its a big area and people don’t realise just how remote some spots are. Have a look at my post called “ west side of the grampians” just down the page a bit.

Cheers for that,I will definitely check it out.
The other sounds I did hear was like two people talking but was really muffled and could not understand them, but why would people be walking around in the pitch black and deep bush at 3am?(I assumed later it might be other campers but I did not see any around us,we were definitely alone) anyhow I will check back later on.

If you heard wood knocks and muffled voices then it could quite possibly be yowie activity, especially if you were hearing wood knocks.
Did the person with you hear the same noises?

It wouldn't surprise me if they were in the Grampians. I've done some motorcycle riding in there and it's quite a large area of land with very rugged dense parts. The landscape almost looks like it shouldn't be in Victoria, it's an amazing place and I recommend going there if you live in Victoria.
The more you've found, the less you've been around.

Thanks for the replys.
Yeah Dion my missus heard more than me apparently.
With the wood knocks there wasn't any reply that we noticed,it sounded like it was in the same area minutes apart.
We were awake until around 5am,then had a couple of hours sleep then left. The voices freaked us both out,I mean it was haunting if that makes sense.
Anyway talk very soon guys.

Back of a mates property which is up against the Grampians/bush,we go through the boundary fence and go in about 250 metres.
My friend tells me there is a proper camp site a few hundred metres from that. But we wanted to be alone and get the full bush experience.
It was a small clearing my friend showed us,so put up a small
awesome.
It was a good night but in the end was scary, especially the missus was scared lol.
