PERSON IN BIGFOOT/YOWIE SUIT SIGHTED IN BLUE MTS

Yesterday at between 3:30-4:40pm (Sunday - 27th July, 2008) - I was driving through Medlow Bath (heading west) in the Blue Mountains when I saw someone dressed up in a black Bigfoot / Yowie suit walking down the street (heading east) in front of the Hydro Majestic Hotel and waving to traffic. Now, I have no idea as to the circumstances of this event - whether there was a dress-up party or someone just having a joke or whatever I`m not sure. But, I thought I would include this observation in case a flood of sightings come into researchers from this area. I know that in the States some people have obtained suits and attempted to hoax sightings (which is a bit dodgy considering the huge gun ownership level in the States) and they have even filmed their attempts and placed them on You Tube. But yer, I thought I would add this for the benefit of anyone collecting sighting reports.

LoL I would have pulled over and asked him a few questions like “Are you a flesh and blood creature or paranormal?” “How have you survived in the Australian bush for so many years?” “Are you nomadic?” “What are your secrets?” “What sort of things do you eat?” “How come you are wondering about in the daylight hours?”

I'm sure he would have got quite a surprise, though I doubt you get much of a response maybe a "ooga booga"

I hope he still has the same suit "they" used in the piper footage..where he "examined" the footage , of him in the suit.....on ACA and gave his opinion...

You seem adamant what you saw was a person wearing an outfit. Could you please elaborate further as to what you saw, to substantiate the conclusion you arrived at?

As we're all aware, there is a flurry of bigfoot related hoaxes circulating youtube and the internet in general at the moment. With the latest media circus, it's become the current running joke.

The issue is, people will continue to have genuine sightings and will continue to capture sound recordings and even visual images. But with a lack of confirmed visual images, and evidence, the task of distinguishing genuine from fake has suddenly become incredibly murky, for researchers and witnesses alike! Unfortunately, it has become very fashionable for all things out of the box to automatically be coined fake without so much as an afterthought!

Your detailed observations of what you observed will be greatly appreciated!

I think thats enough info for me. between 3 and 4, on any sunday, outside the Hydro, thats a busy stretch of road and mass parking for tourists, peak tourist pass by hour, every second Audi and BM owner would be taking high tea in the Hydro or coming home from their mudgee property, ....
yep, that says it all...You saw a fake, no further info req for me.

I`ve been trying to get back online for awhile - I don`t know what happened to my details but anyway I have had to re-register as SAB #1.

In regards to the sighting this was definitely a person there is no doubt whatsoever. The person was waving to traffic and not even attempting to pull off a legitimate hoax. The reason I made mention of hoaxing was because if this person wanted to - they could have pulled off a hoax pretty easy. And because the Blue Mountains is a Yowie hotspot I thought it important to mention that someone in the Blue Mountains area has been cruising around in a Bigfoot suit. This was 100% a person - for all we know there could have been a fancy dress party on or something - to me it looked as if someone was dressed up and just having a bit of fun. I didn`t stop at the time as I had friends in the car and we were on a tight time schedule not to mention that it was almost snowing! If someone was trying to attempt a legitimate hoax they wouldn`t be waving at traffic and walking down the highway. But if researchers get a flurry of sightings around this time period of a black Yowie than I think it is important for them to be aware that they are aware of this fact! In regards to the suit it was jet black with the non-hair type face (your typical Bigfoot suit) if there is such a thing. It looked nothing like the thing? (probable fake) shown in the Katoomba 2006 footage for anyone curious.

I hadn't realised in your initial post the fellow was actually strolling along the Great Western Highway at Medlow Bath and waving to people!

My interest was primarily due to the actual area having reported yowie activity. When I was ranting about observations, I was referring to:

The body was in typical human proportions?
Height was in expected range of an average person?
Face looked like a mask with eye holes?
Fur looked synthetic, no saggital crest?
General appearance was of something seen on Ebay?

If someone were attempting to use it as a hoax, afterdark, or wearing it right on dusk might raise some suspicions...
