Hidden Scat
Has anyone come across anything like this in the research areas.
This is a pile of sticks that caught my eye, it was at the base of a log. I removed the top twigs as they lay and continued removing them until I got to some stringybark bark. which was obviously hiding something under neath..
I removed several layers of the bark and under that I found a decomposed scat.
There is no animal other than a Yowie that could and would do this, hands were required to place the sticks on the pile.(definately not a human dropping before anyone asks)
Whats your thoughts

Re: Hidden Scat
STICKY,
At the moment I have a definate scat sample being tested in Vancouver, they are trying to exract DNA from the stomach bile.
The guy that has the sample is they same guy that done the DNA on Skookum cast.
I won't do amything yet with this sample until the results come back from Canada.
This stuff is rarer than rocking horse s#@t, I don't like to give it away,

Re: Hidden Scat
Sticky,
The results should be positive providing they can extract the DNA, when I discovered the stool it was still hot, I placed it in a plastic bag and it steamed up like you wouldn't believe.
I discovered it in one of my locations very close to a bed structure that was made by the animal.
I did have it in the fridge for a while but the odour wasn't all that good, infact the smell today is rank and its been 3 years since I found it.
To tell you the truth I don't know how it got through customs in Canada, but it did.

Re: Hidden Scat
Seeker,
The location of this scat is quite out of the way its approx 2 hours walk from my vehicle.
As for human intervention I very much doubt it, the property doesn't have any livestock and is only frequented by the owner once in a while as he has a few bee sights on the place.
He only sticks to the roads.
The area backs on to a nature reserve and the property itself covers something like 10,000 acres of wilderness. If you looking for no- mans land this is the spot .
Apart from the odd kangaroo and the odd Yowie thats the only wildlife thats seen in the area, strange but true.

Re: Hidden Scat
this one reminds me of an american story, where someone claims to have seen bigfoot taking a dump in the bush. they took the BF turd and had it tested... tests returned that it was human, however, it contained rodent bones among other residues.
mmmm, rodents.
perhaps, with similar DNA, there would be other similarities between us and them. even interbreeding could be possible. Now there's an idea for my next expedition, dont pack condoms.
Damm, and HOPE to find a friendly FEMALE out there.

Re: Hidden Scat
This location has been brilliant, I have had one definate sighting one afternoon, located 5 bed structures that these animals have made. I had baited one of the beds for 2 weeks and got some good results, these beds arewhere I collect my hair samples from.
I have these hair analised, I won't go into that I think I've already posted about them sometime ago. But in short they come back identical to hairs collected in the USA believed to be Sasquatch/bigfoot hairs.
I have also collected footprint casts,
I had one walk around me one night tapping sticks together, the animal done a 275 rotation around me tapping these 2 sticks together. Pretty freaky.

Re: Hidden Scat
I'd be glad to.
In all I have had 4 definate sightings over the period of timeI have actively been researching these animals.
The closest encounter I have had, which was my first was within 30 metres early one morning.
I'll do each encounterin seperat posts.
No1.
I was heading North from my location early one Saturday morning and was approx 15ks from town and decided to pull up on an old unused section of highway and take a leak and check the trailer I was towing.
I had done the dead and was heading back to the car when I had this feel.ng I was being watched. I immediately turned around and what was behind me blew me away, here was this 7ft animal 30 metres away, slowly walking across the old road without a care in the world .
Thed Yowie stood approx 7ft in height and an estimate in weight would have to be around 200kgs, this animal was huge the chest cavity was just massive, big arms ( muscular) its hair was the colour of the old Telecom overalls (tanish), not real long on the body but longer under the arms. The animal had obviously been watching me because as I turned I could see that it had turned its head and continued to look forward as I watched its departure. The animal wasn't concerned that I was there it didn't quicken its pace, it just mozied of,.
As it walked, it walked with a stoop, its arms were motionless by its side and its hand were turned in the direction of travel ( back of the hands were turned).
I watched that animal for quite some time, I didn't have a camera, in that time the animal didn't look back at all.
That really got me into the research, I had always wondered abou them. There were stories in my home town of Woodenbong where 3 animals were seen by 2 people on seperate occassions which back in 1976 was abig deal.
I'll post the next encounter shortly

This sighting happened at about 4.30pm one afternoon, I had been out in one of my research areas and had just returned to camp and was sitting down having a beer. I was with my brother in law and we were just sitting around chatting about the days research when I noticed someting about 200 metres away.
What I could see just didn't fit in with the landscape, what I could see was an animal standing behind a tree, the tree had a fork in it and I could see this animal in the fork of the tree, it appaeared to be standing behind it. I could plainly see from the waist up, head chest, shoulders and arms.
I watched this figure for sometime before I mentioned it to the brother in law, I thought it was just a shadow or play of light on some foliage but It got the better of me and tried to show him where the animal was. He was sitting quite close to me but I couldn't make out the tree I was refering to. At this stage I was still sitting down, my cameras were a few meters away and as I got up to get them, the animal moved from where it was situated and I never seen it again.
Where is the camera when you need it.

This encounter was being in the right place at the right time.
The father in law was interested to have alook at one of the beds I had located and we decided to go out and take a look, do some research and spend the night out in the bush and do some fishing.
All went well, I showed him the bed structure what was left of it after it had decayed somewhat. We had abit of a look around and we were back at camp, we were sitting around after tea having a chatin the fire light and we could hear some activity on the far side of the river, there were rocks being dislodged and twigs breaking we wondering what the noise was and all of a sudden there is this huge splash in the water and we looked at each other and thought what ever that was it was coming ourway.
I grabbed the light and shone it into the water, and what was there was a kangaroo it had jumped atleast 4 meteres out into the water. Wondering why an animal would just do that went through our minds, but at the same time the commosion is still happening on the river bank, directing the light to the noise I could see yet another Kangaroo going in circles on the back, obviosly alarmed at something nearby. This animal was panicing like nothing I've ever seen.
I shone the light above the roo to see what had caused the fuss and guess what was standing there amongst some rocks and wattle trees, another Yowie.
This animal was about 6ft in height, I couldn't make out and features on a basic outline and the red/amber eyes that just bore into you.
The animal stood there and watched us foir a couple of minutes not detered by the light at all, it just turned and walked back into the bush.
In the meantime the roo in the water had swam upstream and the animal on the bank made its way to safety.
My conclusion is that the Yowie had been watching us in the fire light and the Roos had just come along oblivious to the Yowie being in the area and were alarmed when the smelt or heard him. I doubt that the animal would have been chasing the roos with us being in the area.
This is the same location as my eye shine pictures.

Another case of being in the right spot at the same time. This report is in the sighting on this forum.
In short, I was on the eastern side of Glen Innes in an area called the old Grafton Road I wasn't doing any research just went down to get some rocks. I was travelling the road which snakes along the river, the road gets quite narrow in places so you really need to look ahead of you for oncoming vehicles.
I was doing just that when I approached a corner, I was looking for any vehicles when I could see through the corner an animal on the road, thinking it was a horse continued on my way as I rounded the corner whatw as in front of me was no horse. It was a multi coloured yowie, this animal had 3 different coloured hairs throughout its coat from grey, brown(tan) to black. The animal moved across the road and jumped down into some lantana and out of site.
As the road was narrow it took me sometime to pull up safely I ran back to the area but found nothing, the area is quite heavily vegitated so the asnimal could quite easily have gotten away in the time it took me to pull up.
Thems the breaks.

Yeti, thanks for posting your sightings - again, I don't know how I would react, but then, I almost always have a camera in my bag, and my bloke always jokes that one day I'll be the one that gets a photo of that UFO or whatever because the camera is ALWAYS ready at a second's notice. I wish you had gotten a pic or two, how amazing.
The way you describe the multi-coloured fur/hair was fantastic.
Please tell me you are going to have the camera on the front seat of the car next time you go out!?
Here's hoping you have a few more sightings to get a better look.

Gettiing the camera ready and telling the subject to hang around while you focus in on it is always going to be the problem. It may sound easy but tby he time you react you don't have a lot of time, when you get to have an encounter you'll know what I'm talkimg about.
I generally do have the camera within reach but on that particular day Yowies were the probably the last thing I was expecting to see, but thats the way it is. We should expect the unexpected

Great stories yeti. Is going to be great going out to the next hotspot with super duper equipment 'ready' to do something about getting some pictures or video.

Re: Hidden Scat
I agree Yeti...thats why I have bought a sound recorder that can record HQ for 39 hours and have enough batteries for the HD video camera for 10 hours, and have enough batteries for the night vision and laser IR illuminator for days (lol i mean nights).
When I go out next... the sound recorder will always be connected to the bionic ear and recording, and the HD video will be set to quick start (1 second start) ...I am covering as many variables as I can control.
Prior planning & preperation prevents p*ss poor performance...the 7 P's. The one we can't control is opportunity, but in time all the preperation and practice will meet an opportunity and the desired results obtained.
I wish you well in your hunts. You sound like you have great places to go.

Go for it Yowielover,
You have as much high tech stuff as myself, at the moment I'm having a break from my research., but will be back in full swing in the new year.
And yes the areas I research are just great, couldn't ask for better
I have an idea that will get a better picture of that animal in your avitar, I hope he's prepared

I broadcast a vocalisation that I have on CD of a Bigfoot call. I target areas that have a lot of recent activity. To date I have had 7 replies to my broadcast call , the return calls have been very similar to what I have put out.
The problem is I don't know what the BF call is, the worse scenario would be if it was a mating call

The mind boggles, i can see the headlines now....Man found in Australian bush, naked..apparently sexually assaulted...vigourously, POLICE are wanting to talk to a suspect 8ft tall covered in hair....with a grin on his face.
On a serious note , Man you have all the goodies, it would be a bonus in Australia if we had some Yowie recordings to be able to play back. I would really love a full on IR Camera..but they are pricey i believe
