Can Different sounds actract them

Unread post by bush baby »

Hi I have been woundering can different sounds attract these beasts or would they go running for the hills.
E.G A small generator running through the night would that make them curious or not.
Could sounds to them have as much affect as say bacon cooking on a fry pan.
Many thanks bushbaby

Hey, BushBaby

There are some folks who have said that the sound of babies crying, children playing, music, whistling, and the playing of some musical instruments may attract the attention of Yowies.

In the US, tree knocking is apparently often heard, and some foks have reportedly picked up a branch or something and knocked on a tree in answer. Sometimes, they have received a response... I think I've read here on the AYR forum somewhere that this may also work for Yowies.

Kind regards,
Shazz

Gday Bushbaby, I actually think that any sounds would attract them..... if they are around. I'm sure that if you were out in the middle of the bush and there were people talking and laughing, that they would be curious enough to come and check out what is in 'their' backyard. It would only seem normal for an animal to see who is on their hometurf. (taz) (confused)
I've heard of music attracting them as well. Maybe an instrument of some kind or even singing and whistling. (claps)
Also, I would be cooking a lot because most animals are attracted by smells of food. (rad) Trev

Hi Bushbaby

I have tried the baby noises on a previouse expedition, but it upset my fellow researchers so much that I had to stop using them, they felt it was just wrong. I downloaded baby sounds off the net onto my Ipod, and then used an FM transmitter to play the sounds over my car radio. I have also built a small device out of a music box mechanisim, this is installed in a small tin box and fits easly into my pocket. If I manage to make it up to Wentworth falls , I will show you this device.
