Back on line for a while.

Unread post by Ella »

My grandson brought his computer back for me to use until he starts back to his classes. Apparently he get the Internet real well on his iPhone (iPod?), and needs a laptop only to print out work with his printer. All I could get on my cheap little cell phone was Facebook and Yahoo mail. Will see what's been going on.... (cool) (claps hands) (taz)

Can you believe this? I thought my cell phone was the cheapest possible cell phone at $30 from the AT&T store in Austin. But I just met a young man who has one that only cost him $10 at Target. That's minus the contract or just buying minutes. But I never heard of such a thing.

The first cell phone I ever had was in 1995, I got it free through a friend, but it was the old kind that was very large, about the size of an average ladies' handbag, and it had to be connected to the cigarette lighter of my truck in order to be used. It would have cost $250 and the 15 free minutes, only in my area clode, per month cost a contract of $40 per month. That was 15 years ago. I got a huge desktop computer in 2000. Gone are those days. Heheheh Ella, ya beat me!!! The cheapest I ever got from AT&T was $100.00 and prepaid minutes in San Jose Calif. (My last visit to the states). And you're still cheaper than here !! I remember the old bagphones with fond memories also, they had some great features that I wish I still had, rofl.

All that aside, it's great to see ya back here, don't go away, I've missed ya !!

NP, if you got prepaid minutes here in the States, you should have gone to Wal-Mart and gotten a Trakfone for around $12-15 and then the prepaid minutes, which cost a fortune, like 25 cents per minute. Yeah, those old bag phones seem really primitive now--mine only had calling features, no text messages, and of course not the Internet, which was just beginning to take off here in the USA in 1995.

Thanx so much for the WB. When JC (grandson) comes to get the computer, I'll let yall know. He probably won't start classes until September unless he registered for summer classes, but those have already started. (claps hands)
