Hi, been doing some research on the braidwood area, iv only found something from about 100 years ago and another not on this site about and encounter on the road out towards the coast comming from braidwood.
I was wondering if anyone had any input about encounters from the south of braidwood, towards snowball or majors creek etc?
My familt owns some property down that way, near the caves and pretty much across the road from Deua NP, from there its mostly pretty dense bush all the way through to the coast.
I havent had anything too strange happen down there, the little shed down near the river had the door pushed in and the dog food bag in it raided a few years ago, but i could put that down to someone not locking to the door and foxes.
The other good one was when i was a kid i was standing on the bank of the river on our side, the other side of the river is pretty dense scrub on a very steep hill, i heard a noise on the hill and looked up to something black moving through the bush quickly then stop behind a tree. I didnt take my eyes off that area for 15 minutes i was so scared. But it turned out to be a black wallaby that had tripped and rolled down the hill knocking itself out on the tree.
Guess thats what happens when you watch even c**p aussie movies like spook.

Re: Braidwood area
If I was you I would be hitting the Mountain Ranges in between Braidwood and Batemans Bay, I know its a big area to cover, but that would be my best bet.

Re: Braidwood area
Hey Xiphos ,
I'm not far from there , living on the coast . I think there's a couple of report's on this site that refer to encounter's on the clyde mountain . I was also listening to a scanner once , not so long ago and heard the police refering to a report of a farmer on the outskirt's of braidwood , complaining about stock loss from an "animal" .
I noticed the police were very careful when they said "animal" . Apart from that , like Chewy said , just get out there and start looking . I'm doing research in that particular region , if you need more info , private message me .
Cheer's and good luck Rusty2............

Re: Braidwood area
Thanks guys, im still in the process of kitting out the jeep for some 2 people overnight treks through the fire trails between our place and the coast.
Im lucky enough to have some very good maps of the firetrails in both contour and sat image.
A few more months and ill be out there alot more often, going for a search.
Still dont know what id do if i ran into something questionable though, maybe some flares or something should be there.
