Bigcatsvic - Advertisement noticed in Geelong shop window

Unread post by Foil_Hat_Guy(1) »

On a curious note. I just happened to be walking past a gun shop in Geelong (Victoria) yesterday and noticed an a4 sheet pasted in the window - it was a picture of a panther and it had a website address printed above it:
http://www.bigcatsvic.com.au (no, it's not my site!) accompanying this was a handwritten note: "They are real".

A quick look at the website tonight reveals that it is run by Simon Townsend (apparently not he of Wonderworld fame [children's show in the early 1980s] & John Turner.

I don't visit here as much as I used to so I am not sure if these guys post here or not - if so, your advertising worked! )It got me to visit the site and tell others about it). :)

They're good guys - run a very informative website. We've spoken to Simon and John quite a bit over the years in the course of writing Australian Big Cats: An Unnatural History of Panthers http://australianbigcats.com.au.

Foil Hat Guy;

Thanks for reminding me of their site!! It's been a few months since I checked it out. They have some well presented information on the site.

I'll have to drop in and see if there are any updates in the Southern areas... I don't hear very much from that direction recently.

Cheers
