What do you guys make of this?

What do you guys make of this? (see images)
The what,where and when.
As I've recently stated, I moved to Tivoli in Queensland to do some full time research on this topic. The area is central to a lot of missing persons cases that interest me and also within driving distance to a lot of reported Yowie sightings.
Three nights ago we (my wife and I ) heard a lot of noise and a few very loud tree cracks ,coming from the local bushland near a portion of the Breamer river that cuts close to the park we are staying at (rented a cabin, see sat map image).
The next day I grabbed my camera (HD Sony handy cam with infra red function and a big on board disc, with decent zoom) and went for a hike to see if I could at least locate the tree breaks.
I was successful locating many said tree breaks in the area, most could be attributed to cockatoos and some were fairly old. Quite a few were new and not so easily explained.
This is all documented on a the video I’m editing as I write this. The reason for this post is what I found on the RAW footage (MTS and as yet unconverted).
During the walk and shoot I did get “that feeling” and there was a distinct rotten egg and burnt plastic, dead animal ,kind of stench, and I don’t mind admitting I got stopped in my tracks by movement in the brush at that time. Again, at the time ,I was wearing only thongs (I hate shoes) and was so stunned, ants crawled all over my feet and I didn’t move (this is on the footage).
I cant say I seen anything directly at the time, but in reviewing the footage for editing I caught this during a pan in sequence.
I will supply a link to the finished, converted video once its done.
For now, what to make of this?
I'm going back tomorrow to re-film the same area ,and the object in the film ,if I can re-locate it.

Cheers

It's impossible to tell precisely what it is, but it gives the impression of being the lower torso and legs of a large two-legged figure (to me). Can't make out the texture so I'd have to wait and see the footage - if it shows movement that'd be interesting.

If you go back and check the area out and find it gone, then it was definitely something alive. If it was a tree stump or the like, it would still be present (stating the obvious).

It's large and blends in well with the surroundings. If it's a living thing, it knows where to 'hide in plain sight' so it can observe without being observed.

I guess the only way to be sure is to return to that spot and see if it's still present.

Its pretty bulky...I would'nt say for sure its anything but its an interesting image. As Simon said - go back and repeat the shot and if its gone then you have something to start with.

So did you go back?
Looks like shadows of the bush behind A tree to me. The trunk is clearly visible when you zoom in

Cheers Wolf.

Am heading into the hills area today with the family for an Australia day thing, but I'm going back into the local bush tomorrow.

Have you been able to go back to that same area to check it out?

Yeah went back to the general area and nothing....no stump....nothing that matches the dark object that I can find....it's pretty thick there so I keep going.

If there's nothing there now, then it had to have been a living thing. A tree stump or boulder wouldn't have just moved by itself. Seems like your methods are working in terms of being in the correct locations at the correct time.

I've maintained a daily patrol route of a bout 3 klm around the parameter of the area and haven't penetrated too deep into the mass of hollows in the area. I want to put up tree cams in the next moth or so so I don't want to spoil the area just yet. Also there was a coal mining industry here many years ago, I'm trying to find out if it was open cut or a mine....if a mine exactly were it was. Perhaps there may be a subterranean nest, which would explain the sparse daytime sightings?

Cheers
