Hello, nice to meet you all.
Hello All,
Just want to tell you all I am excited to be here.
I am 43yrs old, grew up around the Pittwater/Hawkesbury river area,, and spent my days searching the bush for reptiles, and had some unexplainable experiences, this site has captivated me !
I now live in China, and plan a trip this year to investigate the Yeren.
Thankyou all

Re: Hello, nice to meet you all.
Cheers Yowie Bait,
I am in southern China, not far from HongKong,, and the bush here is amazing, the locals don't really talk about the Yeren, at least until I ask,
.
China has hugely built up areas like you can imagine, but these are nothing compared to the untouched forests!
Happy days

Yeah ive heard those forests are amazing. It would be an incredible experience to see the untouched areas.
Thats cool if the locals are willing to talk about it. Bet youve heard a few good tales.
Its interesting that so many countries have their own bigfoot type legends with similar traits. Im sure China, with its ancient civilization would have more than a few mysteries waiting to be uncovered.

Yes much like the yowie. Many tales from people of all walks of life and all describing the same thing.AgeV wrote:Yowie bait,

Im guessing the Yeren would be as hard to photograph as the yowie.
Is it more accepted in China?

thanks Simon.
And yes Yowie Bait, even the Government is open to the possibility, there is even a National park dedicated to them...
Shennongjia National Nature Reserve , with a wonderful statue of a mother Yeren kissing her baby at the gate to the park.

Hey Age, that is excellent. The Australian government could learn a lot from that.

Re: Hello, nice to meet you all.
Hi Age - welcome aboard.
I think there is an interesting doco on the Yeren around....it was done either by "Finding Bigfoot' or 'Monster Quest". As usual they found nothing and no real progress was made!
... but they do include some interesting stories about the local and what they believe it is etc etc.
I agree with YB stating that the Chinese Gov seem to embrace the Yeren and ack its existence even though its early days.
Re Hong Kong - one of the best cities in the world. Been there many times and hiked the hills around there - beautiful scenery and great shopping

Re: Hello, nice to meet you all.
Ya,
In China it is the public from time to time criticise the government for "creating yeren hoax" to "boost their local GDP", and the government (and mainstream scientists), from time to time, said "no no no, we didn't create it!! they are real! we can prove it. watch us, we are gonna send team there..."
And the government would through in an "official exploration achievement exhibition" and showing footprints, hairs etc. and then the public would say "they are all fake! they are bears!! those hairs are some kind of filamentous fungi。。。。" and then the government will say "bu**sh*t!, we test it, the hairs are neither apes nor humans but closer to human!"
Studying yeren in China, you will always get to hear this guy:
https://goo.gl/SGlKtu
a self-motivated yeren searcher. He has been, since young, gave up everything and lived into the mountains for yeren. He claimed he spotted them several times, description very similar to yowie. However, as he s approaching to retirement age, he didn't fulfill his promise, which is absolutely solve the "wild man" puzzle.
It is usually believed with more than 2000 years of written history, something about yeren should be abundant. However, my own experience is not. I suggest dont spend time on historical record if there is any. The information yielded is much much less then Aussie Aboriginal oral legends.
I will actually suggest this,
1. try contact the local government, and introduce yourself as "a member of Australian Yeren Research Organisation", i mean this website, which is true and you are a member, so am I. give yourself a "big title".
2. the government won't say "no it's hoax" for sure. They will be likely introduce you to some local scientists. and start communication with them will be good.
most Chinese don't even know yowie in Australia, I have lived in melbourne 11 years just about to know it last year. for what I know, I think searching yowie/yeren in Australia will have much better chance though.
