A Treasure trove of "Hairy man" history

Unread post by Pertys80 »

I've been trying look in to historical accounts of Yowies in my area, when my sister (a librarian) pointed me to this site..
For those of you that don't know about this, it is an amazing resource for digitized news articles going way back.. The secret is using the right search words and weeding out the rubbish..
The search +Yowie brings up a few, but is heavily polluted by Yowie bay for example.. Just add -bay and that fix's it..
However, I dont think the term 'Yowie' was too popular back in the day..
The best keyword I have found so far is not surprisingly +hairy man, I got over 95,000 results🤯😱..
Im sure not all are Yowie related, but a good majority are..
Check it out, you wont regret it..😉

I need to make a correction here, the 95,000 search results aren't a majority of Yowie related articles, but there are many...(wish there was an edit button)😂
Adding +Yahoo brings up some interesting results as well..😉

Thanks pertys. Some good ones there. I wonder when it was exactly when the authorities decided the hairys didnt exist? Most probably when they realised they couldnt just kill or control them like they did with the Indigenous people.

Hi Pertsy8, dig your fascination with Trove. Try the word ‘bunyip’ for more historic articles.
The name Yowie seems a more modern name for the hairy man, whereas pre 1940’s the more common name was Bunyip.
A creature thought to live in the rivers and swamps as well as the mountains.
In reference to Yb’s post; and more excepted in peoples minds to probably exist.
Yes Yowie bay always comes up in search engines because I think it’s the only place in Australia actually named after a cryptid.

Seek and ye shall find. There's a town called 'Bunyip' in Victoria; check at Google Earth.

I agree with yowie bait. there are numerous witness accounts world wide. some of the expert yowie researchers say that they have spoke to police about certain incidents and apparently the police mention that such and such is most likely yowie related. the government knows about yowie. military know about the yowie (I myself have seen the military drone fly over this area about a week and a half ago probably a training exercise though). both government and military have access to highly advanced technologies. it is dumb to think otherwise. .. and I am thinking to myself why am I even bothering collecting evidence, reporting, documenting and photographing unusual things I observe regularly, when all of this information is privy to those in the know. there are endless amounts of evidence supporting that yowie exists. the question really is - why aren't we being informed? why are we being kept in the dark? - it's not the dark ages anymore - or is it ????? !!!!!

Hi GV, I thought that may be the case. I was going to add……'someone might be able to correct me on this’
makes you wonder how many yowie creeks or bunyip billabongs are out there.
Will find out why Bunyip VIC was named.

I didn't know beforehand - thought I'd just take a chance and search GE. Haven't checked out any indigenous-type yowie versions.

Hi missm4mi, many people come to this AYR site, including myself, with the same questions you have in your post.
If you hunt around a bit on past topics there is some great dicussions: govt, military, police and public etc.
As for your 'why am I even bothering'......your doing it for yourself and your passion for the aussie bush
and those of us who want to hear about your research.

Despite what some people think, I think we are still in the dark ages..
Western Governments and their elite puppet masters don't care about the people, theyr're in it for themselves and their Nefarious agenda's.
We don't deserve to know the truth about subjects they label as conspiracy theories and pseudoscience, that stuff is reserved for secret societies only..
Would you believe the west is being controlled by a bunch of Luceferian pedophile cannibals? It sounds pretty far fetched doesn't it?

This video was just released yesterday, it should go viral but it won't.. MSM won't go near it, why? These creatures we call our leaders are above the law...
Sorry for going off topic here people, but videos like the above really get to me. I can't help but feel the powers that be want truth seekers to stay distracted with Yowies and UFO's etc, to keep prying eyes off their real agendas..

pertys80 - it does not sound far fetched. my heart goes out to that lady. I was in tears before the 2 minute mark.
at the end when the lady is asked - "you look OK and appear to present well despite your experiences?" - what the?. .. all one has to do is to look into that lady's eyes - she is not OK and is filled with sadness, hurt and sorrow. I wonder how long before that YouTube clip will be deleted. the only good PED is a dead PED.

I know we're totally of topic but there's an Aussie movie called The Whipping Boy directed by a film maker who's actual brother was a high ranking judge. The film is about pedo judges and kids and the day the film was released the judge brother commited suicide in real life. In other words the film maker knew somthing and tried to expose it.
