Interesting Night Hike

I meet up with a guy visiting from the UK who I got in contact with through this site. Thanks Dean.
We went for night hike near Jarrahdale and we had some interesting results.

[Woodstepper]

The regular "knock" sound is a a Striped Burrowing Frog. We have them in our suburban backyard. Its the regular spacing? Unchanging tone that gives them away

I thought i was the only one having to apologise for bad language lol. The F word loves to come out in the bush lol. Least your havin a good time out there. We have been having heaps of action at eudlo at the moment. Going out Monday night again.

Hey Woodstepper
There was some frogs in there at the beginning our "woodknock" and towards the end. The frog calls were down by the creek and the knocks were coming from a hilltop.
We have been back to the area again and experienced similar repetitive knocking from much the same area, both times as we were leaving only I wasn't using my camera and I was collecting my audio recorder which I had left there for the week prior.
I will look into the frog species though it initially was quite confusing as I had not heard it before.

Yeah I'm pretty good at using swear words as adjectives.... it's been good having Anthony visiting from the UK. We've been back during the day to leave my recorder (which I'm still going through) and at night without any tech where something was thrown at us and we were kindly escorted out... God bless their hairy socks lol.
Hopefully I can get out a few more times while Anthony is still here.

Good for you for keeping a level head and not jumping to conclusions Slats .
It sounds like woodknocks but many in a row like that would suggest something else .

Speaking of woodknocks , lone yowies wouldn't woodknock to nobody so maybe woodknocking is an indication of multiple yowies , just a thought (specualtion).

Thanks mate I do try.... I have been back a second time and we experienced the same repetitive knocking as we left, which was interesting especially after something might have been thrown at us.
It's a pattern but what is causing it well that's the mystery at the moment. I do have a new audio recorder coming so I'll leave it in there during a night hike a see.
