I'm sorry for my ignorance, but i would have thought wild boars were normally that big! My grandpa used to go shotting them, and his all sounded to be that big! One treed him and stomped on his riffle, and he said it was as big as a rhino!

Most feral pigs are a couple of feet shorter, but they can get very big. 8 foot is a fair size, but they can get bigger.

If you go pig shooting, you want a minimum rifle size of about a 30.06. Anything smaller, would pretty much bounce of or just make them angry.
