Paul and Tony have created a Website to promote their new book (which we are proud to have contributed to). Worth taking a look.

This book is the best Yowie related read ever published and is full of facts. Be sure to get your copy before sold out - as was their last book ----> 'Out of the Shadows', where recently a copy appeared on Ebay for over $80. Very rare to find, however some Libraries stock it so it might pay to drop by your local readery.

Yeh, not to bad.

I guess I can understand about not having too much detail as theywant people to but the book

I'd like to find out more about that Sept 2006 Megalong Valley sighting...

Anyone else hear of it and where could I get some more info..

It wasn't long ago. We received the info from the girls involved only a day or two after the incident.

Three girls on horse back at Blackheath came accross a little 4' monkey man that followed them through the bush. It didn't care too much about being seen. The expressions on it's face were apparently priceless as it watched them.

One of the horses became spooked by it and threw the rider off resulting in a few broken bones.

Paul, Tony and Mike went down there with the girls a few days later and the horses totally refused to walk down this particular track and one of them sat down.

The '4 foot monkey man'.

Would that have been a youngster, out to play while its parents slept through the day?

Its rare to hear of a Yowie being both small and/or not shy of people. Perhaps a curious little one.

If so, this would indicate that they are still successfully breading. Also, that fear/weariness of humans, is a learned trait, that parents ingraine into their young.

Who knows. Could be a young one or a fully grown 4' variety which we hear a lot about.

Very interesting that Megalong Valley event.

I used to go their quite often. I remember about 5 years ago near the start of the Wild Dog Mtns walk at Packsaddlers.

I only walked for about 15 mins and did not see anything, but jeez I felt lie I was being watched.

Very eerie feeling..

The wife and kids didn't want to go further because it was getting quite windy, but I was happy to go back with them - well eventually anyway

How to tell the difference between a young Yowie and and fully grown 4 foot Junjadee?

Any ideas?

Apparently the Junjadees are built like a brick sh*thouse, but really short. They get a kick out of starting fights with people, so I've been told by some aboriginal elders.

I think I've mentioned this before on this site, but supposedly back in the day in aboriginal communities if you were to beat one in a wrestle, they were you friend for life. But they had phenominal power.

I would assume a young yowie to be slender and almost lanky, like a young kid.

I dunno, but I've always had this impression of yowies having longish, reddy-brown hair, and junjadees having short black/brown hair.

I'd say they'd look significantly different, but how would you know which is which?
